It all started with a spice rack and a couple friends to get the creativity flowing… I have always had a passion for food. Working my way through college, I worked at restaurants to pay my bills. Throughout the years, I grew to love the business (and even more to play with food)! In 2009 I had an opportunity to open a restaurant; however, it wasn’t long before I knew things would have to change if I were to really make a go of this. In 2011 I started over with a small building back in Tuscarawas County, where I was born and raised.

I grew up with back yard BBQ’s where everyone brought a covered dish and all the kids got together and played outside… when the streetlights come on you better be on your way home! It seemed like each family had a dish they always brought because it’s what they were “known” for. I, along with the help of some friends and family, put together our favorite items and after creating flavorful recipes that have satisfied many football Sundays, family reunions and friendly gatherings for years… created Sammy Sue’s BBQ.

My goal is to have a reputable, well known business where everyone feels at home with friends and family. All of my employees are like family, and we believe that our customers are actually “Guests” in our home! I, as well as my staff, believe in our product because we make it all from scratch with fresh ingredients. We smoke all of our meats in house, with our homemade rubs, prepared every day because quality, consistency, and service are what we strive to give every friend that comes through our doors, no matter what!

From the Smoked Brisket, Pulled Pork, Smoked Chicken, Smoked Salmon, Ribs, Grilled Chops, Marinated Steak K-Bobs, and Grilled Chicken to the white cheddar Mac-n-cheese, creamy coleslaw, smoked baked beans, and homemade chips we have something to please every taste bud.

Located at 237 W Front Street Dover, Ohio 44622 we have a full service bar through the front entrance. We offer carry out, catering, and a dine in area in the back with a second side entrance that is handicap accessible. We do take reservations Monday through Wednesday; unfortunately, we do not on the weekends because of our size. If you do have a larger group, and are planning to join us for dinner Thursday through Saturday, feel free to give us a call 330-602-PORK (7675) and we will do our best to accommodate you.
